Who's your celebrity crush?

Who's your celebrity crush?

“Cool as Kim Deal” is a song by The Dandy Warhols. Yes, yes, yes!

Brody Dalle:

At the same time also: Anat Atzmon. The first Lemon Popsicle film.

Have you ever answered your door in lingerie?

Sophie Verbeeck, Belgian actress and singer:

Some examples:

Bélén Vosseberg (water polo):

Why do US military soldiers/officers have a chest full of medal ribbons when they probably haven't been in a combat situation? Are the medals for attendance, good behaviour, or long service perhaps?

Right, Nora Tschirner, actress and former MTV host:

With whatever haircut, even though I only give examples of a few here.

“Bow down to me”

And they are both just lovely and funny (and very pretty). Gotta love both of them.

I really do love Tegan as well. But yeah, Sara… I wouldn’t tell anyone about it and I wouldn’t watch Tegan & Sara videos just to see her, but my Sara fascination will surely last my whole life ;-)

Gotta love her as a person as well.

NHL mock draft: Mammoth surprise shakes up the board - theScore.com

And I must have watched that “212” video by Azealia Banks 10–15 times, for sure.

Milena Tscharntke, German actress:

I’ve read some not so nice things about her though. I’d rather not know more and keep her songs I like in mind. And this video ;-)

What are some alternatives to wearing a bra? Why do some women feel pressure to wear bras even though there may not be any benefits?

I mean, first of all, I love the band. I saw them opening up for Ryan Adams in Philadelphia in 2002. And I was impressed with their music, immediately bought their album If It Was You at the concert.

(Leonie Benesch, German actress)

First of all, for me, per definition, “celebrity crush” means a person I find to be very attractive and I can’t stop watching because I find them very beautiful. I don’t mean an obsession. I never had that. Even as a teenager, I could only have that in real life. A real crush. Permanently thinking about someone. Celebrities were never “real” for me in that sense. And hey, as you will see, there are a lot that have fascinated me, more or less (whereas in real life, it hasn’t been very many). But always just when I was seeing them (or, with singers, also listening to them). So, that’s my definition of celebrity crush.

Portland’s largest public health provider is bracing for large cuts; it could have lasting consequences - OregonLive.com

Then also young Lisa Bonet. I liked The Cosby Show, but I could also not get enough of seeing her.

First row and Nina Gordon (my friend’s favourite) and Louise Post took off their shirts and played the encore in their bras. Oh boy!

Kim Deal

How do atheists explain the fact that when I pray to God, I feel better and I get a feeling of comfort? Doesn’t this prove that a God exists?

I have found myself not only liking her analysis and her charming ways but also finding her really attractive.

Just to know that if she wanted to do something like that, she should.

Um, yeah …

What is the kinkiest thing you and your sex partner have done in bed?

(above she has a striking resemblence to German actress Nora Tschirner, another little crush when she was an MTV host)

PJ Harvey. Just like many of the others here, I admire her as a person and artist.

Almuth Schult, German football goalkeeper and TV expert:

Have you ever had sex with your mother-in-law? If so, how was it and did your wife ever find out?

(Cortnee Vine, Asutralian football player)

And watch The Petko Dance:

Another video where when it came on, I just needed to sit and watch her and admire her.

What are the differences between Republicans and Democrats in their views of the government's role in society? How do these differences impact policymaking?

I had that for the first time as a teenager with Mary Joe Fernandez

Abi Tucker

(Klara Bühl, German football player, also seems to be a really cool and adorable person)

I'm very sick. 72 years old. I thinking I'm losing my mind. My dead friend told me it's going to be okay. I could feel him. There is more…I don't know what but more.

Andrea Petkovic, a former German tennis player. Funny, charming, smart, nice, very beautiful.

Ashleigh Johnson, water polo:

Well, actresses as well, of course:

How can I stop overthinking and take action more quickly?

I do find this topic interesting, browsing through others’ posts. It really shows one thing: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is no general standard, really. It’s individual. And that’s quite nice, isn’t it?

I had seen this video on MTV Alternative Nation. Not only did I love the song and went to buy the album the next day, I also immediately was focused on Louise Post. I loved Nina as well, but it was Louise.

Edina Gangl (water polo):

Why do many modern Hollywood films rely heavily on CGI and visual effects instead of actual sets? What is your opinion on this trend?

Her eyes. Her style. Her voice.

P.S. An interesting thing. In real life, superficially, it’s faces for me. Eyes. And faces. Although I don’t believe that eyes is a superficial thing, actually.

Sinéad O’ Connor

How has your life changed for the past 10 years? Can you share your #10year challenge? Is your life better, worse, or still hopeful?

And Fiona Apple. Such a good artist. And: Her eyes…!

Still so pretty:

Britta Hammelstein, German actress:

Why do people love to live alone in a house?

Lovefoxxx

If I ever have a daughter, she will have to watch this at some point:

Right, and a few years ago, I watched the Martha & The Muffins’ video “Echo Beach” and was really fascinated by the blonde keyboard player, Martha Ladly.

Her eyes. Her facial expressions. Her style. "The girl who looks boyish is the intelligent boy's choice," she once said, explaining her short hair.

Those were all as a teenager.

Gorgeous. And I love her voice. And she seems to be such an amazing person. She lives in an ecohouse she built herself in some small beach town in Brazil (I saw an interview on YouTube).

Then the second film, where she was 15:

Altogether: Her style and her attitude. Wow.

Carolyn Lilipaly

But there’s another aspect, I can also find someone physically attractive. In that respect, among other, I have a thing for plus-size women. And when thinking about it: How many famous actresses would classify as plus size? I cannot think of any right now. I am sure I would have had a crush on a plus-size actress. But there do not seem to be any. At least not a lot, for sure. Which is a bit unfair, I have to say. A bit discriminating. TV and films should show more plus size women.

With my definition of celebrity crushes, I actually keep having small celebrity crushes even at 46. It’s more that I admire someone when I see them. I wouldn’t do what I did as a teenager, then watch entire films just to admire someone. I’m a bit too old for that.

Seems to me I do not stop having small secret celebrity crushes.

Andreya Casablanca, German musician (Gurr):

And the short hair. And the style. And coolness.

But well, that’s it from me. Yes, I am quite fascinated with female beauty. Mostly, it’s the eyes, definitely. The eyes and the face. But it’s even more fascinating when personality fascinates you as well. That’s the real deal. In real life. And on TV or in videos, you can just admire looks and personality. Without anyone knowing, for my part ;-) I would only share this here, where I am anonymous.

And, about a year ago, I saw an old Woody Allen film and saw Shelley Duvall for the first time. And I was amazed. How crazy beautiful that woman was. Her big eyes, the eyelid space (interesting thing to notice as attractive), her paleness (yes, one can like paleness!). Her vulnerable expression and in the next moment that glow, that spark.

Seems like I, when watching sports, always find an athlete I find very pretty, where I am waiting for the camera to show her. It’s stupid but it’s true.

Miriam Stein, Swiss-Austrian actress

(MTV days)

Just watch a few seconds here:

So, this one developed into a really big post, way too much. But I felt like writing this down. If not for anyone else, it’s interesting for me to reflect on this.

I remember having a discussion, one night out when I was 20. Me, my two best friends and the girl I was in love with (but never told her), who had started studying dentistry. She said “teeth gaps are awful, I cannot look at that!”. Me and both of my friends: “Vanessa Paradis!! Sorry, she’s only complete with tooth gap, and very pretty.”

A force of nature.

(more recent)

Starting with: Sara Quin.

This video:

Kim Kulig, a former German football player.

Here it was just the music videos. “Not If You Were The Last Junkie on Earth”: You do not even see her that much, on keyboards and tambourine. But every time the video came on, I had to watch, I was waiting for those moments. Wow. It wasn’t more than that though, really.

Itsaso Arana, Spanish actress

Right, some MTV UK VJanes during the 90s.

Ekaterina Gamova (volleyball):

(from 30:40 on)

Shirley, to me, while also a really likeable and cool person, it seems (from interviews), was one thing above all: SEXY.

This album cover by her former band also fascinated me:

And, yes, the Aerosmith videos… Alicia Silverstone.

Liv Lisa Fries, German actress

Jasmin Tabatabai (German actress)

I had the following on VHS back then. She was just raw and fierce. Pantyhose, boots, no bra.

Back then I have to admit I watched a few of her games only to see her. I liked watching tennis and played myself. But with Mary Joe Fernandez, I more wanted to see her.

And after that, here some more women I found and find super attractive.

But Sara… Gorgeous. And I so love the sound of her voice.

Nicolette Krebitz (German actress)

Incredibly pretty.

(Meike Droste, German actress)

And Justine Frischmann:

Wow.

I actually put images of her on many flyers I created when together with a friend I hosted a monthly punk rock club night as a DJ. One week before, we would plaster the city with homemade flyers.

And check more YouTube videos. This one, from 2:27: I could watch again and again and again (I don’t, but I would enjoy it).

Also: Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes

Also, Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis of All Saints, in the end of the 90s. That “Black Coffee” video.

Vanessa Paradis

“Ey, man!!!” (in that voice)

Carrie Brownstein. Same here, I admire her to this day for who she is and what she does. And will always do. And also: My God is she pretty. I’ll always have a celebrity crush on her.

Polly is just great. You can only admire her as a person and as an artist. She always stays relevant.

Then: Louise Post (to the right):

Shirley Manson

(Paula Beer, German actress)

Aylin Tezel, German actress.

Karen O

(The reason why I watched Heartbreak High)

And nowadays I still have this thing when watching sports. Athletes I like to see. I can easily name a few I find very pretty, whom I like to see:

My very first concert as a teenager was also Veruca Salt then, in Hamburg. Them opening up for Dinosaur Jr. Me and my friend were so impressed that we actually missed Dinosaur Jr. …

And yeah, in more recent years, I still have this, when watching TV or music videos, that I then find someone super pretty and just enjoy watching them. Their faces, their facial expressions.

Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. So my type, looks-wise. So reminding me of a big love in my life, who looks-wise would be in between Shelley Duvall and Fiona Apple, and whom, of course, I admire in a different way because I actually know her ;-)

I had to google pictures.

Shaved head, boots. Fierce.

“Lick my legs and I’m on fire…” And that interview afterwards.

I watched a few films with her just because I wanted to see her. Here a more recent picture, from when she was 51:

Jennifer Love Hewitt.

And: I have always hated watching football and having female friends comment on which players they find attractive. But … I have to admit that when watching sports, me too, I secretly do pay attention to whom I find pretty … Perhaps that is normal. Anyway, it’s just a little “crush” during the game.

Zia McCabe

(Alli Neumann, German actress and singer)

God, she is simply just gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

Susanne Bormann (German actress)

She was really a teenage crush. I had the films on VHS. And I saw as many other films with her as I could. All secretly, I did not want my sisters or anyone else to notice ;-) Would have been uncool, I thought. So no posters or stuff. Interestingly, my first real life big big crush (for 4 years, without trying anything) looked very similar.

But I have also always found her really really pretty. And, yes, sexy. During my college year in the US, I had a huge promo poster of her on my door (“Stories from the City…”).

And yes, she does awesome air kicks and the windmill (the Pete Townshend stage move).

Klara Deutschmann, German actress.

The first one, as a teenager, was Sophie Marceau. Perhaps my biggest celebrity crush. Seing the two “La Boum” films when I was 13. She was 13 in the first film as well.

“I’ll feed your obsession”

Cat Deeley

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes

Sharleen Spiteri. Wow.

Right, I also had a Jewel Kilcher poster (which I thought was OK to have because I liked the music as well). First album period. Before her style changed more to glamourous. It was this song and the video to it that got me.

Wanda Perdelwitz, German actress:

To this day, I would count it among my top 20 favourite albums. I saw them again in Sweden then.

Well, also because I liked the song. But yes, Azealia. Her eyes, her lips, her facial expressions.
